The books known as the Former Prophets (Joshua, Judges, 1–2 Samuel, and 1–2 Kings) begin with the inheritance of the promised land but end with the Davidic kingdom divided and exiled from the land. We will put on the prophetic lenses to see the stories and history of the Davidic kingdom in light of their covenant with the LORD their God.
